Partner farm: Nicaragua
There are two things you’ll immediately recognize about Isidro Salgado: his infectious smile and his trademark cowboy hat. He rarely goes anywhere without them. A veteran coffee grower in the mountains of Nicaragua, Isidro recently built a new house with the money he earned from coffee sales and he plans to expand his operation. Besides coffee, he also grows potatoes, cabbage and carrots and, despite his concern over recent fluctuations in vegetable prices, he’s confident the coffee market will continue to expand and afford his family a great quality of life.
